Nero and VIsta
I mean, who in their right mind would "ring HP to find out what sort of video card would work"? As if *that* is gonna end well. Not to mention "something called 'Nero' which I never use". What sort of geek is not familiar with Nero? Even Linux geeks know what Nero does. I'm not defending the many failures of Vista

SOmething is making explorer die, or freeze i would say some program which add's an plugin to explorer like Nero or say Symantec not fully compatible with Vista so explorer freezes. Kept on having issues with Nero and explorer, dllhost breaking upgraded to the newest and now my system is stable with no hick up's.

I would choose Nero 7x since you are able to accomplish a wider array burning projects with and use more formats compared to the built in DVD Burning solutions in Vista. Not that I'm saying the one in Vista is not good, its just that you are able to do more and work more flexible with NERO.

And (fwiw) be aware that even Nero (OEM) Express 6 has some "known compatibility issues" with WinXP Home (and maybe Pro) and will throw a warning saying as much the first time it is used - though it seems to work fine.
