Loaded Nero 7 Ultra and it sees all the drives properly! But Vista still cannot use them as burners with the native Vista burning utility. These burners work fine on another Vista machine with a native IDE controller. So the ITE driver in Vista looks to be the issue. www.iteusa.com has no Vista driver.

Upgrade XP to Vista?
I am disappointed that these weren't fixed by Nero in the long approach where Ahead had access to enough Vista code and had enough Tap testers and Beta testers on their staffs to iron these conflicts out. I was able to get 6 to work as I said, but I like some of the features of 7 updated a lot.

7.8.5.0 says that it is compatible with Vista. I am having some problems when I try to run the installation, it gets to the part saying Windows is configuring to do the setup for Nero 7 but after its done nothing happens. I have DVD Shrink, so I can get it on the computer, but the copy of nero I have doesn't work with vista (why not? obviously because they want more money). Is there a program on the computer already? With very rare exceptions, *all* the utilities that come with the operating system (Vista, XP, or any other Microsoft operating system) are more primitive and less capable than the other choices available.
